At Art School 99, we believe abstract art is a gateway to the subconscious, and we offer dedicated workshops in Somerville to help you explore this freedom. Our programs are designed to move beyond traditional representation and dive into the emotional power of color and form.
• Intensive Abstract Workshops: These sessions are inspired by the techniques of pioneers like Vassily Kandinsky. We treat paint as "music," focusing on thickness, value, and spontaneity to help you create freely.
• Expert Instruction: Workshops are led by professional artist Alexandra Rozenman, who provides a "salon-style" atmosphere where technical skills meet creative self-discovery.
• Diverse Mediums: You'll have the opportunity to experiment with oil pastels, acrylics, and canvases, all of which are provided by the studio so you can focus entirely on your process.
• The "Can I Paint Like That?" Series: For those who want to bridge the gap between realism and abstraction, this class uses art history and modern references to help students develop their own unique visual language.
Yes, among others, Art School 99 Somerville is popular among residents of Boston, Arlington, Cambridge etc. Individual painting and drawing development is facilitated through one-on-one discussions with the instructor and group critiques.
