ART CLASSES FOR ADULTS
Art & painting classes for adults near Boston, Arlington, Cambridge, Everet, Belmont. We have classes in sketching, oil on canvas, water color, collage art and more for all levels of expertize.
A class for beginners that starts with the basics of composition, color theory, and discovery of your very own creative process. Please bring a 6x8" sketchbook to the first class. A list of art materials will be provided or can be paid $5 per lesson.

This class will cover all the basics: composition, perspective, shading, and different materials. Are you afraid of drawing? Do not be! This class will teach you the basic shapes required to draw objects, spaces, and figures. Once you get the basic shapes down, you can then work on advancing your images.
Break the line! Drawing is not so hard once you understand its logic and relate to it. Bring 11 x 14" or 12x16" at least 60 lb drawing pad to the first class. You will also need an 8x10" hardcover sketchbook.

ABSTRACT PAINTING
From its roots in European Dadaism in the early years of the twentieth century, shadowing modernism and tracing its way through photography, collage is a medium as diverse as it is politically charged. Emerging as a reaction to the First World War, collage allowed artists to interact with existing materials – anything from newsprint and magazines to maps, tickets and propaganda and photographs – to rip them apart and then reassemble them, creating visually dynamic hybrids. Inspired by self-discovery this workshop will encourage participants to learn the mystery of collage with a contemporary surreal twist with the help of text and storytelling.

This is a fun class for students who really want to understand painting and learn more using references and deepening the knowledge about art materials and techniques, both old and new.
