Image Transfer workshop
$190.00
In this workshop we will learn and practice the technique called xerox transfer. The transfer method uses photocopies of images and printouts of photographs and allows for possibilities to experiment with the creation of multiple layers of images interspersed with fields color, collage materials and painting. Workshop participants will work on four small wood panels at the same time - all in various stages of completion - as the focus of the workshop is on developing technique, taking risks, and making mistakes - not necessarily leaving class with a "finished" product. Participants will continue working on their "paintings" on their own after the workshop for as long as they need to.

About Instructor
About the instructor:
Alisa Rodny has been teaching art and art education for over two decades in private, community, school and higher ed settings. While she works in a wide range of mixed media, she has found that the transfer technique is a truly useful thing to learn how to do as it can be applied to an infinite number of art practices and adds beauty and flexibility to an artist's repertoire. This workshop is structured to engage students at four different levels of the creative process from a "blank page" to working on top of existing imagery, taking bold steps to alter without fear, taking risks and exploring technique in a playful yet intentional way.
